Vintage Driving Glasses Motorcycle Goggles Original Mailer Box Amber Glass
Very cool old driving glasses or motorcycle goggles have amber lenses, wire earpieces and brown velvet-edged mesh side safety shields (which fold in to close glasses). These glasses don’t appear to have been used much, if at all, and were found in their original mailer box. I can’t make out a postmark date, but am betting they date from the 1910s-early 1920s. The box has a patent date of 1909. They were sent to Mr. H. Heidman, Milwaukee from Dr. H J Heeb (more on Dr Heeb below).
50mm x 40mm oval amber lenses are in very good condition with minimal wear. Glasses are about 4-7/8 to 5” across inside from temple to temple.Perfect accessory for a flapper-era Halloween costume or steampunk persona.

Dr Heeb was on the faculty at Marquette Medical School for more than 25 years, he served as a Chief of Staff at St. Joseph Hospital, a President of the Board of Trustees of the old Johnston Emergency Hospital, and was also the first examiner for the blind in the State of Wisconsin.
