Tudor capes are a very elegant kind of cape. They don’t reach the ground but keep all the important parts of you warm and dry. You will not have to gather the fabric to keep it from dragging in the mud. And they look so dashing. They were fashionable from the tudor period on but you can wear them with your renaissance costume or your baroque garb as well. Think swashbuckling pirate or dashing musketeer.

You can wear a Tudor cape the normal way at the neck or let it fall over one shoulder. You can even add it to your armor or add it to a superhero costume. The high collar makes for a great vampire cape, too.

The cape closes with ties in front. The ties are finished off with aiglets. I can offer them in silvery, golden and brown.

The cape is cut as a semi-circle. There is enough fabric in it to drape well.

The cape will be made for you in your choice of fabrics and color.

FABRIC
Your Tudor cape can be made in a range of different fabrics. Please choose your outer fabric from the first menu. Use the second to add a lining.

wool mix (78% Polyester, 22% wool): soft woolen fabric that doesn’t look or feel like plastic at all. Very rainproof and warm. Ideal choice if you are on a budget but want to look the part. Or if you just can’t stand rough wool.

worsted wool (100% wool): perfect fabric for a cape. It keeps you warm and dry. The surface is quite rough, though.

loden (100% wool): very dense wool with a smooth surface. This will keep you dry and warm – proven by generations of hunters.

cotton velvet (100% cotton): if you rather want to be dashing, this is the fabric. Not rainproof but pure luxury.

Lining:
satin (100 % Polyester): a smooth, shiny fabric for a dashing splash of color.

Ponge silk (100% Silk): very light silk, perfect for lining.

dupioni silk (100% silk): heavier and stiffer than ponge silk. Dupioni has an irregular surface which adds to its charm. But it is not historically accurate.

light wool (100% wool): light, woven wool fabric. This is the right choice for a really weatherproof cape.

COLOR

I can do most colors for Satin and silk.

Wool and cotton velvet come in most standard colors. There is no pure white with wool, though.

Loden is only available in black, grey, dark green and dark brown.

TRIM

There is no trim included with this listing. If you want any kind of trim, please ask for a custom offer.
