This fabulous textile has been in my private collection for many years. It is outrageously wonderful. Found exactly as is! I think this cape could be reversible – one side has the floral fabric lining inside the hood and lovely patches; the other side is just black. The handstitching is so lovely, it looks beautiful with the patches and lining on the outside, so I took photos of it both ways! The plaid patches are hand stitched to the wool ground. The decorative floral linen dates from the very early 1900’s and was probably added as the hood began to show wear. Hand stitched. This textile is simply one of the very best. There is an inner felted wool lining.A magnificent, one of a kind find ~*~ ~*~

25 inches around the neck
length 40 inches

CONDITION : This textile is freshly laundered. There are some small holes dotted here and there, there are some little rust marks, some small faded areas and a larger sun mark in the center of the back and lower right side, it’s truly wonderful!!!
